Winner Team Xenon Xeno Lingo The Winning project of MBM IdeaX 2023, XenoLingo is where users can embark on a language-learning journey focused on indigenous languages through an engaging word-matching memory game with social media integration. To start, users choose from a variety of indigenous languages and select their preferred difficulty level: Beginner, Intermediate, or Advanced. Social media features are accessible through a secure platform, requiring users to sign up or log in. The word-matching game offers a dynamic learning experience where users can familiarize themselves with indigenous words and translations before taking on challenges of varying complexity based on their chosen difficulty level.
1st Runner Up Team Lipi Lipi The First Runner-up team project is about simplifying the creation and development of languages, fonts, and linguistic datasets, focusing on language translation, text-to-speech, and speech-to-text applications. Its user-friendly features include Font Generation, allowing users to effortlessly create fonts by drawing letters, recording sounds, and assigning keys for mapping. The process automatically handles vectorization, unicode, resulting in a downloadable .ttf font file. Lipi also excels in Dataset Generation, enabling users to use these fonts to compile datasets with words, stories, meanings, translations, and pronunciations for applications in Machine Learning and dictionaries. The project emphasizes Community Collaboration, empowering users to collectively work on existing or new languages. Maintainers, reviewers, collaborators, and the community collaborate to document, refine, and expand languages, ensuring that each contribution undergoes verification and review before integration into the main language.
2nd Runner Up Team Misfits Native Tunes The second runner-up team project is where creators can easily upload audio stories, ensuring the oral traditions and linguistic nuances of their communities are safeguarded. Beyond storytelling, the app features a marketplace for users to sell cultural artifacts, promoting economic empowerment and sustainable preservation. To foster engagement, Native Tunes provides a dedicated forum for users to interact, exchange ideas, and explore storytelling techniques. This space encourages collaboration, allowing individuals to connect with like-minded enthusiasts, learn, and refine their storytelling skills while appreciating indigenous languages and cultures.
